## 5. Academic Monograph
Arginine is a component of pH-switchable artificial skin dressing that, modified with polydopamine into PtAu nanozymes, increases reactive oxygen species production in the acidic and hyperglycemic environment of infected diabetic wounds, effectively killing bacteria and disrupting biofilms.
As the wound environment shifts to neutral pH, the nanozyme activity changes to scavenge excess reactive oxygen species and release oxygen, reducing oxidative stress and improving local oxygen supply.
Arginine coordinates antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and pro-regenerative effects to provide an integrated therapeutic platform for diabetic wound management.
Arginine-containing gel formulations statistically significantly increased microhardness values following remineralization of artificially demineralized enamel.
Arginine-containing formulations demonstrated statistically significantly higher calcium content compared to non-arginine formulations in energy dispersive X-ray analysis.
Arginine-containing formulations produced statistically significantly larger inhibition zones against both cariogenic and commensal bacterial species compared with arginine-free formulations in agar well diffusion assay.
Through synergy with ginger and eggshell extract, arginine provides enhanced enamel remineralization and antimicrobial efficacy.
